The Columbian Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR),
Invites You to Join Us!
The chapter of the Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) is located in Boone County, Missouri. Chapter meetings are held once a month on Saturday in the morning from February through May and September through December. Chapter meetings are not held in January or June through August. Members celebrate Flag Day and other patriotic events.

The MSSDAR Patriot of the Month program provides the chapter a means to honor and recognize those who served our country.
The Columbian Chapter, NSDAR, honors our nation’s veterans and active duty military.

Service in our Community
About Our Chapter
We currently have 210 active members who dedicate their time, talent, background, skills, and passion, along with financial support, to serve our members and community through each of the three DAR pillars: historic preservation, education, and patriotism. We support students and teachers, veterans and active-duty personnel, as well as individuals and groups who love and appreciate history, particularly our American Revolutionary War history and the roles that the DAR played in shaping that history. We acknowledge and learn about individuals who have made a lasting impact in their areas of interest or expertise, and we actively engage in any way we can to fulfill a need. We welcome women who can prove lineage to those involved in the American Revolutionary War; this connection need not be military. If you would like to determine your connection to an American Revolutionary War Patriot in your family, we have people who can assist you. Please contact the chapter if you would like more information.
Chapter History
On December 10, 1902, the Columbian Chapter, NSDAR, was established by Regent Mrs. George B. MacFarlane and 26 other charter members. The year 1907 marked the chapter's presentation of first prize to a student making the highest grades in U.S. History at Columbia High School. Activities during the following 120 years include the marking of Revolutionary soldiers' graves, assisting the war effort by volunteering in hospitals and with the Red Cross, and supporting rural schools with supplies and funds. Today, our enthusiasm continues in our support of historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Patriot Ancestors
DAR members are descended from American Revolutionary War Patriots. These men and women fought in the American Revolutionary War or aided in the cause of American independence.
